A Walk Through My Neighborhood

Ha Noi is a city of nearly 4 million people. When we arrived in September 2002, it took us only three days to find a place to live. Our temporary home is located at Ho Ngoc Khanh ("Precious Gem Lake") in Ba Dinh district. On any given day, I can walk within a mile radius to slurp a bowl of Pho, bargain for a freshly-plucked chicken, chat with the friendly locals—and get a bike fixed on the street. If you ever visit, this is what you'll encounter in our special corner of Ha Noi.
